Happy Halloween

Well I have to say that Halloween is going much better than I ever could have imagined. I was stressed with everything I had to do for the girls' party. Not to mention worrying about how I was going to attend two parties going on at the same time. I worked with a great group of women who totally rock! It went so smooth. I was worried about the parade and the parties being first thing in the morning but I think it was better this way. The kids were not fully awake to be rowdy.

Great morning had by all. Can't wait for Trick or Treating tonight.

More Pumpkins

Sunday night we carved our pumpkins. The girls can almost do them by themselves. So much fun watching Halloween in their eyes.

Pumpkin Patch

We choose a beautiful day to search for our pumpkins.  And we found a new place really close to home.  What we did not realize was how big our kids are getting.  The place was geared for younger kids with lots of climbing set for little ones.  It was even to small for Rachel.  But we made the best of it.  We picked out our pumpkins, spent some time with the animals on the farm and then headed home.  Simple and perfect.

2nd Grade Musical And Art Show

On Wednesday, it was all about the second grade at our school.  Ava's class put on a wonderful muscial and showed off their art talent.  It was a crazy day trying to fit in gymnastics with Ava getting out at 5 and Molly getting out at 5:30.  Then dinner and back at school by six.  It truly takes a village to raise kids.  I realize with our crazy schedules that I could not do parenting on my own.  I have so much respect for single mothers!

 Ava's Still life

Sorry the pictures of Ava on stage were not clearer.  Our camera was not cooperating that night!

Raccoon Run

So excited to have the older girls at the same school. Between volunteering and activites I feel like I live at the school. Thank god we are only two blocks away! I have to keep telling myself that it is good to be in a school that thrives on parent involvement .

This past week Molly and Ava participated in the first money raiser for the year. Each student was sponsored as to how many laps they could run around the track. Molly ran 1.8 miles and Ava ran 1.5 miles. It was a beautiful day and I even got to run with both of them. Of course the best part was the Popsicle at the end.

Swim Team

As if we are not busy enough, we added another activity to our lives. Ava joined a swim team. She practices 2 hours a week and has 4 meets throughout the season. Ava is one of the youngest swimmers and absolutely loves it. She is really perfecting her strokes. Her favorite is the butterfly. It
completely exhausts me watching her. Last week was her first meet and she did great. We are very proud of how hard she works. She swam freestyle, backstroke, breathe stroke, and two relays. Here are a couple pics but its hard to see Ava. I will post more after the next meet.
