Christmas 2012

So, I got caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season.  My intention was to blog about all of the holiday happpenings.  Didn't happen.  So, here are the highlights in pictures!

Our neighborhood Christmas party.  Hayride and Santa.  Rachel will have nothing to do with Santa.  We don't force the issue anymore!

Baking cookies at Grandmas.

And our wonderful Christmas celebrations.  Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!  We are all truly blessed! Fun times were had by all!

Rachel's Performance

The other day Rachel's class put on a little Christmas show.  It was so cute!  Her teacher was really nervous because the kids would not sing at all during practices.  She sent letters home BEGGING the parents to practice with their child.  Well, it paid off.  The kids did great!  Rachel sang her heart out and loved being on stage.  She waved and blew kisses to us throughout the show.  She also loved hugging Mary who was standing beside her.  When I asked her what she was in the play she said she was a Fairy.  She had no idea that she was an angel.  I guess we need to talk about the Christmas story a little more!

Student of the month

Last month, Molly was chosen to be student of the month from her class. Her picture was displayed outside of the office.

Its hard to read but it said that Molly follows the school rules and respects others.  Her teacher also mentioned how she helps out other students.  She has taken on the responsibility helping Yoyo, a new student from China.  Yoyo is learning English.  Molly plays with her and helps translate.  She has always been my sweet hearted girl!

Forgiveness

Last weekend, Ava made her First Reconciliation. She was a bit nervous but came out with a big smile on her face. It was way different from when I made my first confession. The priest met with us first and then had a little talk with Ava before they went into the confessional. He was telling jokes and made her feel really comfortable. It was not at all how I remember it!

It was a very special day for Ava and we could not be more proud!

Ava happenings

Time is going way to fast and we are trying to keep up.  Not succeeding I might add.  It goes in phases as to which child is the busiest and Ava is the winner this month.  So much going on!  Here are some highlights from her big book party where she did a report on Judy Moody.  I was very impressed with her ability to talk in front of a big group of people.  Not only her classmates but her classmates parents as well.  She was not nervous one bit!

And here are some pics from her second swim meet!  She totally rocked it!  Way to go Ava!  So glad you found your sport!
