Kung Fu Panda

Today we took the girls to the movies. Molly's first movie. They enjoyed it and sat still almost until the end. As long as they had popcorn, gummy bears, and a slushie to stuff in their mouths they were good. Molly talked through the whole movie and got a little restless toward the end. Ava ate so much popcorn that she had a bellyache when the movie was over!!

Park Day

Yesterday, we spent the day at the park with our church group. The adults get together once a month for prayers and dinner but this was the first time we got together with the kids. We all had a lot of fun. The park had a lot of fun equipment. And the weather was perfect. Almost a little chilly. The slides were the big hit of the day as you can see from the pictures!! The kids got along great!

Vacation Bible School

This week Ava had her first Vacation Bible School experience. She absolutely loved it! And I must say I loved it too! I wish we could have Bible School every week during the summer!! The week went by so fast. Ava learned a lot of new songs and met a lot of great people. Molly enjoyed some Mommy time.

Tonight was the end of Vacation Bible School carnival. This was the girls first ever carnival. They enjoyed the Fun Bus, the Bouncy Castle, the balloon lady, and all the games. Ava wasn't sure about getting her face painted but once she saw the other kids do it, and saw the purple flower, she loved it. Molly was excited about getting her face painted. She jumped right up into the chair and was all smiles until the brush hit her cheek. Of course they had more than enough sugar and junk food. Hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade, and snow cones.

Friday Fun

On Fridays in June, Ava has been attending a program called Friday Fun. Lucky for me, it is right across the street at the Rec Center. It is quite a busy morning for her. She gets to swim, do arts and crafts, play on the playground and her favorite part, have lunch. Last year we attempted to do the same program but, she didn't make it through the whole time. I had to go and pick her up. The teacher let her cry for about 1/2 hour and then called me. This year couldn't have been any different. She kisses me goodbye at the door and runs off to play with her new friends!!

Dancing

This is a short piece of Molly's morning ritual. Every morning, while I am making breakfast, she has to turn on the fridge music and dance. It is her time and Ava is NOT allowed to dance with her! After she dances to one song, she says "Mommy dance!" Then and only then am I allowed to join her.

Dad's Day

Since today was Father's Day, Mike got to choose what he wanted to do. He decided that he wanted to go fishing. Not my idea of a restful day. So, up at 3:30 to be at my parent's house by 4. I guess it's best to be on the lake by sunset. Then an 1 1/2 car ride to Pueblo. Mike, my dad and my brother fished all day in the hot sun. I guess the fishing was great. They caught a lot of fish!
After Mike got home, we went over to Nana and Papa's house for dinner. Dad choose a Carl's Jr. burger. We hope you had a great father's day Dad and Grandpa. WE LOVE YOU! Thanks for being such great fathers!!!!
