Swim Lessons

Last night Ava went to her second class of swim lessons. As you can see, she is quite the little fish. The place called Swim Lab is great!! Only 4 kids per class. Ava loves her teacher Mr. Mike. I can't believe it but she actually enjoys wearing her swim cap and goggles. The cap is so hard to get on and has to pull her hair. The goggles are so tight that they leave marks on her head. She doesn't seem to notice though. From the pictures you can tell that she enjoys the socializing just as much as the swimming! My only wish is that the lessons were longer than 30 minutes!!

Girls Night Out

Last night, Ava and I had a little mommy and me time. The evening began by meeting Ms. Carol and Celeste at Lolilocks Salon for a little Valentine pampering. There we started off with a yummy snack. Ava choose the white cupcake with pink frosting and punch. Then we did a fun little Valentine craft. We made a fun heart picture frame. Or I should say that Mom made it and Ava helped!

After that, Ava got her fancy Valentine hairdo. And after she was done, she got hairpray with sparkles! I watched the stylist do it and I am going to attempt to try it on my own! It didn't look to difficult when she was doing it! Wish me luck!!

Then, the best part of the pampering in Ava's opinion, was the mini-manicure. Ava choose some very pretty pink polish and got to "relax" while the lady did her nails. It was VERY hard for Ava to sit still. And of course, it was harder yet not touch anything until the nails were dry. I was very impressed I must say. Only one nail got ruined and I think that was because of her horrible habit of nail biting!

After our pampering, we went to a "nice" resturant for dinner. It was nothing to fancy. Any place is nice to Ava if it is not McDonalds. The girls were able to sit still for a little bit while Carol and Mom enjoyed their dinner. It was a great night! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful little girl to spend time with.

I have been tagged

My friend Marie "tagged" me a couple of weeks ago. This means that I have to think of 6 things about me and post them on our family blog. I have been trying for days now to think of these things. It is so very hard. I could easily think of 10 things about Mike or my girls. But me? So, I have to admit I cheated a little bit. I had to ask Mike for some help. I hope that's ok. Here goes.

1. I have a new hobby. I like to think that I have always been into fitness and staying in shape. So, my exercise routine usually consisted of weights, the eliptical machine, and step aerobics-all done in my basement. Well, I have discovered a new way of working out. Running. I absolutely love it. I got an IPOD for Christmas and I really enjoy going to the gym and running. I just a beginner and probably slow compared to long time runners but, I love the high I get. It is MY time and I love getting out of the house.
I can't wait to be able to run outside in the fresh air. Spring cannot come soon enough!

2. I love to cook and bake. And I wish I had more time and energy to do it more often!! My favorite channel on tv is the food network. I love to try new recipes. Lately my new thing is making recipes low fat. I am so lucky to have a husband and kids who will try anything! My dream is to someday have a huge gourmet kitchen to do all my cooking and baking.

3. I recently joined a book club and I couldn't be happier. I love to read. Mostly fiction books. I love to escape in a book. So, this book club is the greatest thing ever! I get to read a book and actually discuss it with a group of women. And of course, food, and wine are usually involved!!

4. Since the writers strike, and none of my favorites are on, I have gotten a little obsessed with "The Biggest Loser" tv show. Before this show, I never understood how people could become so into reality tv. But, that is me now!! I feel like I know these people. And I swear I saw a couple at Target the other day. Crazy I know!!

5. I love being a stay at home mom!! It is so rewarding hanging out and having fun with my girls!! Our favorite things to do together are going to the pool, playing babies, and playing kitchen. I am truly blessed to be able to spend everyday with them.

6. My absolute most relaxing and favorite past time is bathing. I could take a 3 hour bath every night. That is if my skin would let me. If I take to many baths in the winter time, my skin dries out. I love my bubbles and bath salts. And sometimes, I even light candles. Reading a book or a magazine in the tub is the greatest feeling ever!

So, that's me. Nothing too exciting. Hope I didn't bore you too much! Like I said, this was very hard to do! Know I wish I knew someone else with a blog to "tag"!
